Activity report - June 2025

On the first day of the new month, a new dog appeared in Pong Park. He’s an unneutered male in good condition and stayed with us through the end of the month. Over time, the other park dogs gradually accepted him. I’ve decided to call him Toto.

As always, the help from Dieter and Pai has been invaluable. They clean the areas thoroughly, carefully wash all food trays and water containers, and handle feeding duties with skill and dedication.

Sadly, the month ends on a heartbreaking note. Taya passed away after a short illness. She was only four years and three months old. The cause of her rapid decline remains a mystery to me.

Activity report - April 2025

At the beginning of the month, Satya was involved in a fight during my absence and passed away shortly afterward. I had taken Satya in eleven years ago. She spent many years living at Wat Amparahm before I brought her to the shelter a year ago. The cause of the fight remains unknown to me. Rocco and Kylie have recovered from their injuries and now spend most of their time in the kitchen, though they still have access to the open area. The training of our two new helpers, Dieter and Pai, went well. Together with Pat, they now take on the main shelter duties twice a week.

Activity report - March 2025

The past month was relatively uneventful, with a few exceptions. Kyra and Rocco suffered minor bite wounds, both of which were treated by Dr. Oi. There were no notable incidents in the temple area either.

Activity report - February 2025

At the beginning of the month, tourists handed over a puppy they had found next to its deceased mother. After two weeks of care with me, Josie took over its further care. The following months went by routinely. All the dogs at the shelter, as well as those in the temple area, are healthy and doing well.

Activity report - January 2025

The first two weeks were uneventful. Kyra and Tarik’s wounds healed well, and the other dogs showed no signs of concern. However, in the third week, Claudia informed me that Mona, Lucy, and Tessa—three of my dogs whom I had entrusted to Jutta—had been poisoned. Toward the end of the month, we received a visit from the district administration. I guided one of the officials through the entire shelter. He took notes and told me he would contact me again at the beginning of February.
